Founder, Maple Street AI
Serial entrepreneur. Co-founder of Squire Technologies, valued at $750M. Y Combinator alum. EY Entrepreneur of the Year. Harvard and Stanford business case study subject. Now building the AI-powered platform every service pro deserves.
Dave Salvant came from humble beginnings in Brooklyn, New York. After earning his degree from the University at Albany, he built a career in finance — first at JP Morgan as a private banker, then at AXA, where he helped launch financial products that went on to generate over $9 billion in sales.
But Dave wasn't built for the corporate track. In 2015, he and his best friend Songe LaRon founded Squire Technologies to bring modern software to barbershops — an industry that had been overlooked by tech for decades. To truly understand the business, Dave even owned and operated a barbershop in Chelsea Market.
Squire was accepted into Y Combinator's Summer 2016 batch, raised over $200 million in venture capital from investors including ICONIQ Capital, Tiger Global, and Trinity Ventures, and grew to a $750 million valuation. Today, Squire powers over 5,000 barbershops across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.
The experience taught Dave something that stuck with him: service professionals — the people who keep our neighborhoods running — deserve better financial tools. Not enterprise software dressed down. Not another generic app that doesn't understand the trades. Something built from the ground up for how they actually work.
That's why he built Maple Street — the AI-powered platform designed to deliver results that matter for plumbers, landscapers, electricians, cleaners, and every other service pro who's tired of chasing payments and drowning in paperwork.
Maple Street is the tool Dave wished existed when he was running his own shop. Now it's yours.
